Eugenia Machado - Director
Director and main Instructor of IC Academy, Eugenia Machado has been with the Academy since its first year (2002) moving from a dancer/student, to an instructor and now the Director. During her time at IC Academy, she studied the dance styles Jazz, Ballet, Pointe, Acrobatics, Hip Hop & Contemporary.
Eugenia begun her tertiary studies at the Australian Collage of Physical Education (ACPE) in 2013 and graduated with a Bachelor of Applied Dance. Throughout her time at university, Eugenia studied Classical dance style such as Ballet & Contemporary in accordance to anatomy studies.
Eugenia has had the privilege to dance at the iconic Mardi Gras celebrations in 2015 & has travelled to the USA & performed in Disneyland, California Adventure Land, Universal Studios & Hollywood Blvd.
Eugenia has been dancing for over 15 years where her firing passion has been growing. Moving into teaching dance, Eugenia has found a new passion where she strives to pass on her passion and love for the arts onto her students.
Irene Zarate - Instructor
Irene Zarate graduated from the University of Western Sydney with a Bachelor of Arts Degree – Dance (Distinction). She holds a Capricorn Ballet & Arts Academy (C.B.A.A.) Dance Teacher accreditation.
Having taught dancing and singing for over 18 years, Irene brings to the Academy the experience of a multi talented performing artist, professional singer, dancer, songwriter and choreographer.
Irene’s previous experience includes a record deal and a released song called 'Chilly Cha Cha' through Molly Meldrum and Michael Gudinski’s record label Luxor Records.
She has performed at the Colonial Football Stadium in Melbourne, Bert Newton’s Good Morning Australia, Channel V, Aurora and other venues across Australia.
She has acted in Australian televisions shows such as A Country Practice, Home & Away and Heartbreak High.
At the National Music Oz Awards (2005), Irene's original song ‘Light Years Away’ won three awards against four thousand artists for Best Pop Artist, i98 Listener’s Choice Award and the Development Award.
Irene’s love and passion for performance and skilled instruction is an inspiration to her students.
Zohra Bednarz - Instructor
Zohra has been vocally trained at IC Academy for 8 years. Zohra has a deep passion for musical theatre and regularly commits herself to performing at shows and eisteddfods around the Sydney region.
As well as singing, Zohra has been trained in many dance styles including Ballet, Tap, Hip Hop and Jazz and is currently focusing on Tap at ‘Dein Perry’s Tap Pups’. Although still in high school, Zohra wishes to pursue a professional career in Musical Theatre and music production.
Elma Avdicevic - Instructor
Elma Avdicevic has been with the Academy since 2009 as an enthusiastic student before transitioning to instructor in 2012. Since starting dancing at the age of 7, Elma continued to study a range of dance styles including Ballet, Pointe, Tap, Jazz, Contemporary and Hip Hop at the Academy, developing a strong passion for dance and teaching. During her time at the Academy, Elma's love for ballet led her to complete her Capricorn Ballet & Arts Academy (C.B.A.A.) exams with honours.
In 2016, Elma graduated with a Bachelor of Arts and Diploma in Education from Macquarie University. Throughout her studies, she developed knowledge and skills in teaching.
Elma has had the privilege of performing at various events and festivals including the Easter Show and has travelled to the USA & performed in Disneyland, California Adventure Land, Universal Studios & Hollywood Blvd.
Dancing for over 18 years, Elma brings her devotion and ability to offer a learning environment for all students to grow and be the best performer they can be.
Lisa Devcic - Instructor
Beginning her journey as a student of IC Academy at the age of 5 when the studio first opened, Lisa began cultivating her love for dancing with Jazz moving through funk, ballet and drama. Since starting at IC Lisa has completed her C.B.A.A examination in Jazz with honours in 2014, a year later Lisa began teaching along side her instructors in 2016 and has found it to be the most rewarding position. Seeing her students challenge themselves and grow their talents whilst having fun, building friendships and working in a team.
Lisa has nurtured her passion for performing graduating from the prestigious ED5 International Full-time Performing Arts College in 2017. Expanding her skills under the guidance of industry recognised professionals Lisa has studied all aspects of the performing arts from Jazz, Musical Theatre, Ballet, Contemporary, Lyrical, Hip Hop, Tap and Acrobatics to acting and singing. Whilst still at ED5 Lisa received the opportunity to perform along side her ED5 peers at the Arnott’s Fundraiser Gala 2017 as well as the Nicole Fitzsimmons Fundraiser Gala 2017.
Lisa now teaches Hip Hop, Jazz and Acrobatics as well as covering for teaching in all areas at IC Academy of Dance and Arts.
