Tiny Tots

Designed for children 1 to 2 years of age with a parent or caregiver. Toddlers will enjoy learning body shapes, movement and coordination, listening, sharing, playing instruments as they build their communication and motor skills in a 30 minute weekly class.


This class is specially designed for 3 to 4 year olds and promotes fun, co-ordination, rhythm, flexibility, confidence and fosters creativity to three styles; Jazz, Ballet and Tap. 

Through the use of dance movement, children will learn to follow simple instruction and overcome shyness.

 

Classical Ballet

 

The most classical form of dance. Provides students with a foundation for all types of dancing and technical ability. It consists of barre and centre work, dancer's technique, poise, grace and balance.


 

Jazz

 

A stylised form of dance that focuses on the stylistic and performance aspects of dance. Consists of jazz warm-up, stretching and body isolations followed by across the floor progressions and centre floor work. Common jazz steps include ball change, leaps, pirouettes and step ball change..


 

Tap

 

Style of dance that focuses on expressive foot rhythm, percussion, sound clarity and variety in speed. Consists of barre work, across the floor progressions and centre floor work.


 

Funk

 

 An urban fast and fun style of dance that includes locking and popping movements to today's modern music.

A style of dance that has evolved as part of the hip hop culture and can be referred to as street dancing. This style of dance is seen in today's music videos and dance clubs.


Contemporary dance derives from modern and post modern dance. It focuses on such things as centering, alignment, gravity, breath, contraction, release, fall and recovery, suspension, balance and off-balance, tension and relaxation, opposition and emotion.


The specialized art of jumping, tumbling, and balancing, requiring agility and skilful control of the body.

Acrobatics is most often associated with activities that make extensive use of gymnastic elements. Some Acrobatics moves include contortionisms, cartwheels, handstands, front aerial, back walkover and barani's.


A team self motivating dance that's expressed in a fun energetic style.It comprises of a strong arm movement, jumps and turns to name a few with expressive visual counter points. 


A relaxed fun Jazz class for Adults with little dance experience. Consists of a jazz warm-up, stretching and body isolations followed by across the floor progressions and centre floor work.


The voice is a unique instrument that expresses many emotions. Learn the techniques of singing which include correct breathing, pitch, vocal tonation and control, dynamics, interpretation, phrasing, microphone technique and performance in all styles of music.


Students in drama learn skills in improvisation, characterisation, voice diction, projections, group collaboration and team building through various in class drama exercises, script performance and analysis. Students are able to explore and develop their own creative ideas in both monologue and group based performances. The end of year concert gives drama students the opportunity to realise a piece of dialogue from characterisation to costume design, and from stage direction to performance, lighting and microphone technique.


A form of theatre incorporating singing and dancing in addition to acting. Students will learn the skills of dancing, singing and acting simultaneously to popular Broadway shows.


A class designed to improve physical strength, lean body mass, functional mobility, flexibility and much more! 

You don’t have to be an experienced dancer to do this class. If you want to work on your flexibility and strength this is the class for you. 

For those who are experienced at dancing, you all know the more flexible you are the better the dancer you’ll be and the more control you will have over your body. 


Students can participate in Examinations through Capricorn Ballet & Arts Academy (C.B.A.A) which is a recognised qualification within the dancing profession.

Examinations are the best way for students to consolidate and record their experience with a qualification so that they can progress and venture into teaching or a dance career.

Examinations give the students targets that strengthens confidence, discipline and improves their overall dance ability.

Students in Classical Ballet, Jazz, Tap and Modern have the option of participating in the exam. Once you pass your exam you progress to the next level.

The Academy recommends that students who would like to gain more from their classes, become more qualified, learn a skill and be marked accordingly should participate in the Examinations.
